Pay it Forward

Have you heard of this contagious little project called Pay it Forward...
it's something so very simple yet overflowing with inspiration, generosity, and delight.
I discovered it while visiting a few of my favorite bloggers
and was lucky enough to join in on the fun after commenting on Erin's beautiful blog.

So how's it work you ask?

Well it's really quite simple...
The first five people to comment on this post will receive a handmade gift from me.
Though, they won't be extravagant in value they will certainly be rich with love:)

In return you must also write a post about the Pay it Forward project...
and send a handmade gift to the first five visitors who comment on your post.
Isn't this the most perfect way to connect with our kindred spirits!

Now remember to take your time...they don't all have to be sent today or tomorrow....
and it's not the size of the gift, but the spirit of "Pay it Forward".

While I'm here I'd love to take the chance to send you all a great big Thank You....
I've reached a milestone  of over 600 followers!
Never in my wildest dreams could I have ever imagined it!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Abby

Remnants transformed

I believe my winter blues are finally fading...
my crafty little fingers have once again begun to dance around in the studio...
this time reaching for remnants from my peat pot project...
dried flowers buds in the prettiest of colors...and a bit of shabby white paint...
The reawakening of my creative spirit feels wonderful:)

Wishing you an amazing week!

Philadelphia Flower Show

Hello dear friends,
I've got another busy week ahead of me but I did want to take the chance to say HI
and share a few pics of my favs during my visit to this year's Philadelphia Flower Show
(click on pics to enlarge)
I wish my photography skills were better capable of capturing the beauty....it was magical
there were of course plenty of familiar flowers throughout to tantilize the senses...
but these works of art my friends were beyond breathtaking....
critters in flight and everything in between...
my favorite may have been the bed of roses....dreamy:)
Have a wonderful week!

make it pretty

Hello dear friends, hope you're weekend turned out to be amazing!
Forgive my lack of posting and visiting....I've had to work lots of overtime lately....
but I do hope to catch up a bit tonight:)

Now, I don't know about you but I LOVE any opportunity to elevate the presentation of a gift....
especially those that are humble in value.
Often times I'll search for pretties already in my home to wrap a gift...
instead of wrapping paper I'll reach for pretty fabric....
instead of tape a lovely ribbon to hold it closed...
and instead of a store bought card a doily
with a short and sweet message may join in instead....
though I prefer vintage fabrics they are difficult to find and at times quite expensive.
so a favorite back-up is discontinued fabric samples from Joann Fabrics....
at $2 each they are perfectly priced to wrap a petite little something without breaking the bank.
I wrapped a necklace for a dear friend's birthday this past week
so I thought I'd share a sampling of just how quick and easy it is....
with the necklace in hand I searched through my stash for a sample...
one that would compliment the colors of the pearls just right.
for an extra layer of love I first wrapped it in pretty vintage dress pattern tissue paper...
cut with scalloped edge scissors for an extra touch of loveliness...
then as if wrapping a treasured trinket I carefully folded the fabric just so....
no need for tape to keep it closed....
with a satin ribbon tied in a bow
the final touch....
a few sprigs of dried lavendar and a doily with a sweet and simple birthday wish.
A beautiful and inexpensive way to make it pretty!

I'd love to know how you too have discovered ways to "make it pretty"....do share please:)
